Updated this week

If you want to learn more about the Organizations and Organizational Units concept in Bureau Works, please refer to the following article: Accounts, Organizations and Organizational Units.

1. Creating an Organization

  • From the Bureau Works home screen, click on the tab Organizations.

This will bring up the Organization's Screen. All you need to do is click on "Add Organization".

  • Enter the information requested and click on Create to conclude the creation of the Organization (all fields are required)

If you already have created other Organizational Units, you can associate them already on the "Add Organizational Units" field:

Any new Organizations are associated with the current account which the user is associated. Only Bureau Works SysAdmins can create Accounts. An Account is created when a new client is onboarded onto Bureau Works.

An Organization can only be created and modified by users with the roles: SysAdmin or Account_Admin

2. Creating an Organizational Unit

  • From the Bureau Works home screen, click on the tab Organizational Units.

This will prompt the Organizational Unit's panel. The, you must click on "Add Organizational Unit" button.

  • Enter the information requested and click on Create to conclude the creation of the Organizational Unit (all fields are required)

Any new Organizational Unit you will create must be associated with an Organization. You can either select an existing Organization, if you already created one or create a new one from this screen, by clicking on the Organization dropdown and then on Add Organization.

It is not possible to alter the foundational creation details of assets, such as the parent organization of an organizational unit. Bureau Works does not support the transfer or movement of these data elements to ensure the utmost protection of user data and assets. This policy aligns with our commitment to maintaining a secure environment, adhering to the highest standards of data integrity, and complying with SOC 2 Type 2 certification requirements.

An organizational unit has numerous associations and correlated metadata, and to prevent any disruption or unauthorized access, these associations are considered definitive and cannot be modified.

An organizational unit cannot be deleted from the user interface.
