How to add new segments to Translation Memories

  • Besides confirming a segment in the Bureau Works editor, you can add a new segment (translated sentence) to the TM by clicking – on the Bureau Works index page – on Translation Memory, and then on Translation Memories.

  • You can find the TM you want to edit by using the filter feature on the Translation Memory page

  • Click on the TM you want to edit and then, click on Add Segment

  • The Add Segment Tab allows the user to add the following information related to the new segment:

  1. Source Language: select the source language

  2. Source Text: In this field, type the new segment text in the source language

  3. Target Language: select the target language

  4. Target Text: type the segment text in the target language

  5. Save: after filling the required fields, click on the Save button to add the new segment to the TM

Editing or deleting a TM entry/segment:

  1. Using the search feature, find the segment you want to edit or delete:

2. Click on the Edit Segment icon (1) to edit or on the Remove Segment icon (2) to delete the segment:

  • By clicking on Edit Segment, it is possible to edit information related to the new term/segment:

  1. Source Text: The segment text in the source language

  2. Target Language: The target language for the segment

  3. Target Text: the segment text in the target language
