Managing Deliverables in a Project

Updated yesterday

Overview

This article explains how Account Admins, Project Managers (PMs), and Clients can manage Deliverables in a project. Deliverables are the final output files of translation work units and can be uploaded, identified, and downloaded through different areas of the platform.

1. What Is a Deliverable?

A Deliverable is the final, client-ready file generated from a Work Unit.
It reflects the completed translation, including any final adjustments made outside the platform.

2. Access and Role Permissions

The following roles can manage deliverables by default:

  • Account Admin

  • Project Manager (PM)

  • Client

These roles can upload and download deliverables and view which Work Units already contain final files.

Note: If a deliverable option is not visible, the Account Administrator can enable it through role permissions.

3. Uploading Deliverables

In addition to downloading, these roles can also upload deliverables when needed.

How to Upload

  1. Open the Project

  2. Find the relevant Work Unit

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮)

  4. Select Upload Deliverable

  5. Upload the final file

Important:

  • If a deliverable already exists, the system will ask for confirmation before replacing it

  • Uploading a new file replaces the previous deliverable

4. Deliverable Indicator on Work Units

When a Work Unit contains a deliverable:

  • A visual indicator icon appears on the Work Unit

  • This helps users quickly identify where final files are available

5. Downloading Deliverables and Expected Results

Deliverables can be downloaded from different locations. The files you receive depend on where and how the download is initiated.

6. Project Delivery Notifications

When the project is delivered:

  • A notification email is sent to the Contact associated with the project

  • This contact can be an Account Admin, Project Manager, or Client

  • The email confirms:

    • The project has been delivered

    • Final deliverables are available

    • Instructions and a link to download the files

Summary

Deliverables make it easy to manage and access final project files. With clear indicators, flexible download options, and automatic notifications, Account Admins, PMs, and Clients can quickly retrieve the correct files at any stage of the project.
