Uploading Deliverables (Vendor Guide)

Updated this week

Overview

This article explains how Vendors can upload Deliverables, which are the final output files of a translation project. After completing the translation and making any required external adjustments, Vendors can upload the final file directly to the Work Unit, ensuring the client receives the finished product.

1. What Is a Deliverable?

A Deliverable is the final version of the translated file, ready for client delivery.

It may include:

  • Final formatting or layout adjustments

  • Files edited outside Bureau Works

  • Any client-ready version of the translated content

Deliverables are always uploaded at the Work Unit level.

2. Vendor Access and Permissions

  • Deliverable upload is enabled by default for all roles, including Vendors.

  • Vendors can upload deliverables only to Work Units they are assigned to.

Note: If you do not see the expected upload options, contact your Account Administrator to confirm your permissions.

3. How to Upload a Deliverable

To upload a deliverable:

  1. Open the relevant Project

  2. Locate the Work Unit

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the Work Unit

  4. Select Upload Deliverable

  5. Upload the final file

4. Deliverable Replacement Behavior

If a deliverable file has already been uploaded to the Work Unit and you attempt to upload another file:

  • The system displays a confirmation message

  • The message informs you that the existing deliverable will be replaced

  • You must confirm whether you want to continue or cancel

This prevents accidental overwrites.

5. Deliverable Indicator on Work Units

When a Work Unit already contains a deliverable:

  • An icon is displayed directly on the Work Unit

  • This icon visually indicates that a deliverable file has been uploaded

  • Vendors can quickly confirm whether the final file is already attached before uploading a new one

6. Important Notes for Vendors

  • Uploading a new deliverable replaces the previous file

  • Always confirm the replacement message before proceeding

  • Vendors cannot download deliverables by default

  • The client will only receive the file notification after the project is delivered
